Are We Ready?

Yes, it’s been more than 2000 years and likely too many of us weren’t brought up with any seriousness about Jesus’ return and how that should have impacted our lives as professing Christians, but if we are living out our salvation then we need to live in that readiness.

“At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.” Matt 25:1-5

The signs of Jesus’ return are increasing and it’s imperative that believers not be lulled into some false sense of security — especially the misinformation or lack of Heavenly fire coming from the pulpit — nor become caught up in an agenda nor cling too tightly to relationships. In the days to come Believers will have their faith tested even further.

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.

“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.” Matt 24:6-13

To live with a mind set on things above has always required faith with actions that back it up; praying, serving each other and the forgotten.

“…Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” Luke 18:8

So daily we lay down our lives, picking up our Cross, holding to His promises.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”  John 14:3
